sub-terrestrial decay of abysmal ooze

Spewed out of decay, growing neural networks and worm-like creatures embody the depths of the unknown. A maelstrom of deterioration, where notions blur, conventions deter. Where signifiers dissipate, expire and reflect the fragmented, shattered crux. Feasting on paradigms, echoes of forgotten semiotic signs.
«sub-terrestrial decay of abysmal ooze» is an immersive installation which explores horror tropes, abjection and the eerie through a sphere of speculative fiction and world-building, ruled by the monstrous and unknown. A non-anthropocentric horror narrative. A pleasant discomfort, a claustrophobic state of decay, sheer fascination and oozing leakiness.
Horror, as a genre, is the dissolution of the subjective fantasy about what we think the world and reality is. It is a generator for speculative thinking, and a place to challenge and transform existing ideas through a form of genre collapse and hybridity. By reusing the traditional horror tropes, the genre has created a recipe that plays on and with our expectations and prejudices. Is it possible to create a horror narrative that is not based on human projections? Will the dissolution of the human remove the horror element or will it, as a result, be enhanced?
